The question that often comes up is: why go with a logo design company? After all, can't you just get a logo on eBay for dirt cheap? Or maybe just sink some money into one of those logo design programs that costs just as much? Or possibly commission one of those logo contests? Obviously you don't have to go the hyper-expensive marketing firm route, and you don't want to spend a king's ransom on your logo. Happily, we here at Incstone Design provide a third path in all that, but that poses the next question: why the middle of the road? That can be answered twofold. The first point is, quite simply, when you go with us, you're not going with "middle of the road." You're working with a firm that is, like you, a small business and one that is dedicated to working with companies like yours. We don't have multi-billion dollar accounts that get priority over yours; when you work with us, you are the client and you get our full attention. We won't sell you a bill of goods for what we think you should want, we give you what you want. There's a phrase for that - customer service - and the Incstone Design staff knows this phrase attentively. As for the second reason, it all goes down to the old adage: you get what you pay for. Sure, you can go with a cheap logo program, but are many others...and to be honest, do you want your logo to be the exact same as that of your competitor, who bought the same program...or any of the hundreds of others who bought it? Each company deserves an identity as unique as their business and 1000 prefab templates just really doesn't count as unique. Additionally, many of these programs only produce low-level graphic images, which might be passable for printing on a home printer, but completely unsuitable for professional business cards and stationary. Lastly, while many of these programs are easy to work with and simple in design, they also can't perform the same standards as that of a designer's tools. So why not go with a logo contest? Again, this is where you're likely to get burned. Again, it's an inexpensive choice - but so is using band-aids on a broken arm. The truth is, when it comes to these methods, they're usually done by people who are working more for the money and thrill of recognition rather than ensuring you have the best design possible. They usually don't provide multiple formats and all you get is that single logo that was chosen as the winner - regardless of whether it was in the format you needed or not. You also have no real way of contacting the logo designer for additional work (as everything is brokered through the contest site) and of course, this doesn't cover stationary designs or other services you may require. Lastly, the logo design contests are often infamous (with great justification) of being "copiers' dens" where designer A's winning bid for contest B on site C is nothing more than a rip-off of designer X's winning design for contest Y on site Z. But what about eBay, you ask? The site is an auction firm and was designed with the intent of the buyer trying to bid for the lowest possible price. Unfortunately, this doesn't work out so well when it comes to professional services. The eBay sellers tend to not offer all the formats you may need (one in particular only offered your logo in JPEG, GIF and bitmap - two outdated and one largely obsolete format). Very few of them offer stationery services, and almost none of them offer website design. As for backing up your design, none of the ones I came across did so, nor did they offer the file aftercare and help services that we here at Incstone provide. So it comes back to us and what we can do for you. Here at Incstone, we have what we call the Four Point Promise. We hold these tenets to be important to us and all staff members abide by these rules:
So, take a look around, we hope you like what you see, and if there's anything we can do to help or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
