Megami + Incstone + AnimeAid = Help for Japan PDF Print E-mail

luvluv

Here at Megami Studios, we've always had an affinity for Japan.  It shows in our work, it shows in our company and brand names (Megami and Incstone) and it's fair to say that a lot of the inspiration at Megami and its brands have always had.  But now, in the wake of disaster, Japan needs help to recover from the trifecta of incidents that have occurred.  As much wealth as Japan has, this is a problem that no one nation can tackle alone; one only has to look at Hurricane Katrina and the US being the largest economy on the Earth - and the subsequent help that was needed from other countries - to show that.  Unfortunately, as time has passed and the headlines disappear from the front page, and as perceptions of Japan's economy continues, people who need help the most cannot get it.  After all, the disaster happened not in the Tokyo area, but in the Sendai area, one of Japan's most rural regions - it'd be as if Kansas got hit with an earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster all at once.

Here at Megami, we feel that we have to do something about it.  We've teamed up with AnimeAid to come up with a fundraiser for the cause.  Therefore:

  • For the months of April and May, 20% of all sales from Incstone Design will go towards AnimeAid's fundraising efforts in Japan.
  • In May, Megami will relaunch its Megami Fonts site.  20% of all sales from Megami Fonts during the month of May will go towards AnimeAid's fundraising efforts in Japan
  • For the months of April and May, 10% of all sales of Megami Fonts on MyFonts.com will go towards AnimeAid's fundraising efforts in Japan.  Please note that this amount is smaller due to font commissions, but we are committed to donating some amount.

For the skeptical, this isn't just some marketing ploy.  We specifically worked this out with AnimeAid based on the relationship we have with them.  Megami is a corporate donor for AnimeAid and on its steering committee (in fact, we host the AnimeAid website), but even if we didn't have those ties, we'd do this regardless.  It's important to us, and above all, it's the right thing to do: people need help, regardless of where they're from.

If you're looking for graphic or web needs, please consider purchasing from us.  The purchase will not only get you the best service around, but will also go to help those in need...and really, what could be more important than that?

Why Consistency is a Must for Your Business PDF Print E-mail

As many of you may know, Incstone Design's parent company Megami Studios just transitioned from our old offices to a swanky new place out in the Shenandoah Valley.  We're very happy about the move, as it gives us room to grow.  But in the process, we learned a very interesting lesson on consistency in one's business, something that we simply feel we must share.

At our previous location, we had fiber optic and phone service (FiOS) from Verizon.  It was fast and effective, and it worked very well.  But upon relocation, we were informed that FiOS was, unfortunately, not an option.  However, I'd had a pleasant experience with Verizon's DSL services prior to FiOS and felt we could live with that.  I called them and ordered the bundle.  I was promptly set up for an appointment for installation and would receive the other items in the mail; furthermore, our Verizon Wireless cellphones would be tied into the account for one unifying bill.  Everything, I was told, would go as smooth as silk.

It is at this point where the ideal began to diverge from the real.

A Few Notes PDF Print E-mail

This is just to let you all know that Megami Studios (parent company of Incstone Design) will be moving to our new facilities in late January. We've been looking forward to this move, and we'll have larger function space to increase our services.

This will have a minor impact on Incstone: our staff will be available for emergency contacts only (no sales) from Jan 21 - 28. We hope this will not inconvenience our present and future clientele and we look forward to continuing Incstone's sterling service.
